Change Fonts and Fonts height

How can i change the fonts and heights of lyrics in Qprompt

To choose a different font:

  1. Select the text you wish to modify. To select all text, click anywhere in the viewport’s text and press Ctrl+A to select all text.
  2. Click on the letter A in the toolbar: image
  3. Click on Choose System Font to choose a font from the ones your computer has to offer or click on the name of one of the fonts that are included with QPrompt.

If Choose system font is clicked, a font picker dialog with a preview of the selected text will appear, letting you choose system fonts. Select your desired font and click Ok to close the dialog:

To change the height of lines:

  1. Click on the T with the vertical line with arrows image in the editor toolbar to show more text related options in the toolbar. A slider for “Line height” will appear among other sliders.
  2. Adjust the line height slider to your liking:
  3. Click on the now light-blue colored T image to hide the sliders once you have no other use for them.

Hope this helps! If by change font height you meant stretch font height rather than increase line space, then I apologize, that’s not a feature in QPrompt.

HI,

thanks but i don’t get all this options when i select T, when i select all disappear, i can’t send a printscreen to you in this replay

The T is a button that you click at the button of the app. It has the following appearances:

  1. Click on image to expand text sliders:

  2. Adjust line height as needed:

  3. Click on image again (now in blue) to remove the expanded controls:

Great on my new Laptop with windows 11 it works great many thanks for support

Is Qprompt also available for iMac i need a program that i can recording my scrolling autocue lyrics to use in Video software like Adobe Premium Video. A developer needs my lyrics to make a business video with our monitors within scrolling lyrics

You can use QPrompt on MacOS, tho you can only use with up to two screens at a time. No more than two screens nor can which screen be specified properly due to changes in MacOS that hadn’t been addressed by underlying frameworks at the time the last MacOS build was made.

The Mac version also has a bug that causes the install to be broken. You must work run the following command from the terminal app after having installed the app in order to get it to work:

sudo xattr -cr /Applications/QPrompt.app

Lastly, I would avoid capturing the scrolling lyrics and instead hand the editor the lyrics in text format. Adobe Premiere has a feature to animate text for credit sequences that will guarantee smoother animation than if you capture QPrompt’s output as a video. This is because video capturing software can miss frames and introduce jitter. You can avoid that problem by using dedicated hardware for video capturing. However the resulting video would still have visual artifacts from video compression and anti-aliasing. Those will look bad when the editor tries to make the background transparent again.

The hardware I used to recommend for these purposes has now been discontinued. Video capturing products are a line where cost does usually reflect quality.

Software like Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects can be used to animate text perfectly, and it’s pretty easy to do so. I’d only resort to capturing to use the captured video as a reference to then re-create the animation in After Effects, because After Effects gives more control.

If you still want to do a screen capture, my program of choice for this is OBS, which does a lot more than just screen capture and requires a bit of setup: https://obsproject.com/

After Effects has a steep learning curve. The best place to start is: After Effects Basic Training
The videos may look outdated but they actually still hold up to this day.

Adobe software doesn’t support MKV, which is the default format used by OBS. Use OBS’s tools for converting MKV to mp4 before handing the video over to the editor. Alternatively, you can record directly into MP4 in OBS, but then you loose the main advantage of MKV, which is that you won’t loose the video if the recording were stopped incorrectly.
